vii) AIMST University - Postgraduate Scholarship
Dr.Aruljoethy, the Deputy Dean (Clinical) from AIMST University had
updated us that the university is now taking in students for Post
Graduate course in basic medical sciences ie Medical Anatomy, Medical
Physiology, Medical biochemistry, Microbiology and Pathology.
Students/doctors who have passed from unrecognized medical colleges
that fall into the 2nd schedule of the Medical Act can apply and be
admitted for these courses. This will be useful for those who have
appeared in the medical qualifying exams conducted by the Malaysian
Medical Council and were unsuccessful. Since AIMST achieved a high
SETARA rating, all students for these post graduate courses are
eligible for a scholarship.

Once the students have completed this 2 year course at AIMST they can
teach these subjects at any of the 33 medical universities in the
country. As we are all aware there is an acute shortage of medical
lecturers in all the private medical universities and almost all of
them depend heavily on expatriate lecturers.

If anyone would like more information do go ahead to contact
Dr.Aruljoethy via his email at
deputydeanaimst@gmail.com .Those
interested please do scan a copy of your certificates and e-mail them
to him so he could advice you accordingly.

HOW TO AVOID EXTRAMARITAL AFFAIRS?

The best way to deal with marital problems is prevention, and this is particularly true in the issue of extra-marital sex. Prevention is possible only through a commitment to honesty, not a "promise" to be monogamous.

Tips to avoid affairs:
1.    Control your thoughts for other people if you feel that you are beginning to think about them more than you should.
2.    Avoid circumstances where you would be alone with a person of opposite sex.
3.    Avoid excessive talking and joking with people who are of the opposite sex as it may give a wrong impression to them.
4.    Extra marital affairs develop when you are not satisfied with your partner so it’s better to talk to your partner, and solve the issues.
5.    Discuss personal things only with your partner.
6.    Spend quality time with your partner and always keep the spark of romance alive.

‘HOW TO MANAGE PTPTN LOAN WISELY’

“Here are some tips for you on how to save PTPTN money!”
1.      Don’t spend unnecessary on text books. If you think that the textbooks are really necessary then try following the examples: (e.g. perhaps can get second hand textbooks for cheaper prices from your seniors/ perhaps make photocopies of the book/ library will also be a good source of reference)
2.   Don’t use the money to buy expensive handphones. Control your desire!
3.   Laptop is essential but if your college or university provides computer lab facilities do make full use of them.
4.   Don’t’ spend unnecessary money on clothes, shoes and cosmetics products.
5.   Don’t use the loan amount to buy bike or car. Utilize your college/university transportation or stay nearby the college/university.
6.  Try to limit yourself to do unnecessary shopping or going to the movies frequently. But it’s ok once in a while to ‘window shop’. But always make sure you don’t shop till you drop!
7.  Don’t spend your PTPTN money buying expensive gifts/presents for your loved ones (e.g. girlfriends/boyfriends). You can do so when you have your own earning power.
8. Don’t waste your money on buying entertainment magazines. Most of the latest news or gossips about artists are available on the net.
9. Try to avoid giving a big amount of cash to your family members who are in desperate need of cash. It’s ok to help them by giving a little amount of money monthly.
10.Do control your desire. Don’t easily get influenced by your friends to spend   unnecessarily.
11.Lastly, have a …Piggy bank”!  Make sure to feed him a RM 1 daily and by the time you piggy is full, he will repay you with big reward!

HAIR SERIES: HOW TO SHAMPOO?

1. Cleanse your hair with lukewarm water.

2. Dispense shampoo (50 cent dollop for long and 20cent dollop for short
hair) onto your palm than to your hair.

3. Massage shampoo into the scalp before rinsing. It is not necessary to
shampoo the end of your hair strand intensely.

4. Finally, condition – gently squeeze water out of your hair. Apply the
conditioner to the end of your hair NEVER the scalp. Rinse with cold
water to close hair cuticles.

5. To dry - Gently press your hair against the towel and comb your hair
(wide-toothed comb). Avoid rubbing your hair with towel.

Extra tips:
• Avoid washing your hair regularly as this habit may dry your hair
(depends on the hair type though).

• Hair treatment at home is also recommended for frizzy hair;
preferably once a week (works for me).

• A BIG NO to lots of foam while shampooing as this may dry your hair.

WHY?

Sex’ is not a taboo word. Before we embark on our journey to learn more about sex per se, let’s see why people actually have sex…
ü  Making babies: At its heart, sex is about making babies. If you absolutely, positively don't want to make a baby, then don't have sexual intercourse — be abstinent. No birth control is foolproof.
ü  Enjoying a sensory experience: Many people engage in sex for the sensory experience, the wide range of physical and emotional pleasures that a person can derive from sexual activity.
ü  Partnering up: Sex can play a role in forming a bond with another person, which is yet another need that humans have.
ü  For love and the long haul: The drive to find someone to love remains a strong one. Part of the glue that holds longtime love together is sex.
                                                                                                                   (Adapted from sex for dummies)

Ever pondered what was your reason? Whatever the reason is whoever it is going to be with, make sure you do it at the right time, with the right person and for the right  reasons.

Children Learn What They Live

If children live with criticism, they learn to condemn.
If children live with hostility, they learn to fight.
If children live with fear, they learn to be apprehensive.
If children live with pity, they learn to feel sorry for themselves.
If children live with ridicule, they learn to feel shy.
If children live with jealousy, they learn to feel envy.
If children live with shame, they learn to feel guilty.
If children live with encouragement, they learn confidence.
If children live with tolerance, they learn patience.
If children live with praise, they learn appreciation.
If children live with acceptance, they learn to love.
If children live with approval, they learn to like themselves.
If children live with recognition, they learn it is good to have a goal.
If children live with sharing, they learn generosity.
If children live with honesty, they learn truthfulness.
If children live with fairness, they learn justice.
If children live with kindness and consideration, they learn respect.
If children live with security, they learn to have faith in themselves and in those about them.
If children live with friendliness, they learn the world is a nice place in which to live.

Listening Solves Problem

I always wondered after every argument, “What is the best way to resolve an argument?”. It never hit me till one day my partner told me,
“Don’t you ever listen?”
Is that what am I lacking? Being a listener. That’s when I realized that being a good listener should be the easiest thing but always being ignored by many of us. A relationship is not based on only how good you treat someone or how understanding you are, it is also important to listen. Listening is essential and it’s different from hearing. When you listen, you pay attention and when you speak you expect that the listener understands what you said. It is give and take. Being a good listener helps us not only to solve problems but also to see the world through the eyes of others.
5 simple ways to be a listener:
1.    Be physically and mentally ready to listen.
2.    Look at the person. Show that you are listening.
3.    Never interrupt the person before they are finished.
4.    Be patient and not defensive.
5.    Learn to read in between lines so that you can hear what the person is really saying.

So now, I know that one way to reduce misunderstanding is by listening, which I actually realized after ‘listening” to my partner.
